Our clients include artists, galleries, art dealers, collections and other protagonists on the art market as well as designers and creative entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide legal advice, draft and negotiate contracts and represent our clients in litigation.

We provide assistance in private and public art commission projects, exhibitions and art programmes worldwide. We advise galleries, art dealers and collectors in handling complex art sales. We advise artists and galleries in the legal structuring of their studio and gallery operations as well as on their mutual legal relations, and we pursue copyright infringements. Our practice also includes providing advice in the case of art estates, developing strategies for planning an estate, advising foundations and representation in art restitution cases.

Dr. Christian Bauschke

Christian Bauschke studied law in Munich, Paris, Salzburg and Amsterdam and wrote his doctoral thesis on an international stock market regulations topic. After working as assistant to the chairman of the board of Gruner + Jahr publishing house, he worked as a journalist, including as a reporter and parliamentary correspondent of Die Welt as well as senior editor and chief copy editor of Welt am Sonntag. Christian Bauschke has been a lawyer working in the field of art law since 2004. After having worked with the Berlin law firm Heller & Partner, he founded Bauschke Braeuer in 2013.

Jakob Braeuer LL.M.

Jakob Braeuer studied law in Berlin, Salamanca and at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). During his training, he worked at Sotheby's London and the international business law firms Hengeler Müller of Berlin and Jones Day of New York. In 2010 he joined the Berlin law firm Heller & Partner and specialised in art law. Jakob Braeuer has been a partner with Bauschke Braeuer since 2013.
